In a nutshell: In 30 seconds, the Hello Inside app measures six biomarkers directly via your smartphone camera – no wearable needed. Here's how the technology works and what each measurement reveals about your body.
Your body constantly sends signals. Most of them go unnoticed – too subtle to perceive with the naked eye. The Hello Inside Face Scan makes these invisible signals visible.
How does the Face Scan work?
The technology behind it is called remote Photoplethysmography – rPPG for short. It uses your smartphone's front camera to detect subtle color changes in your skin caused by blood flow. These changes are invisible to the naked eye – but precise enough to calculate meaningful physiological data points from them.
No device on your wrist. No chest strap. Just your face and your camera.

The scan takes 30 seconds. The result: six biomarkers that give you a clear picture of your current physical state.
The 6 biomarkers – and what they mean
bpm
How hard is your heart working at rest? An elevated resting heart rate can indicate incomplete recovery or stress – and directly influences how your body processes meals and blood sugar.
ms
Heart rate variability measures the flexibility of your nervous system. A high value means your body is recovered and adaptable. A low value signals exhaustion – both directly impact blood sugar stability and cravings.
breaths/min.
Your respiration rate often changes before you consciously perceive stress. It's one of the earliest physiological stress signals – and a direct driver of cortisol release, which in turn affects blood sugar.
0–100
Based on your physiological resting values, the scan calculates how thoroughly your body has recovered – regardless of how many hours you slept.
0–100
Makes invisible stress visible: how much strain your nervous system is currently under, even if you don't subjectively feel stressed.
Note: A high score means low stress. A low score means high stress.
0–100
The balance between the sympathetic (tension) and parasympathetic (recovery) nervous systems. The optimal range is in the middle – this is where your body is metabolically most stable.

Why this is particularly relevant for women
Hormonal fluctuations – whether due to the menstrual cycle, perimenopause, or stress – directly affect HRV, recovery, and stress levels. The same measurements can differ significantly depending on the cycle phase.
The Face Scan makes hormonal influences on your body objectively measurable – instead of just noticeable. Over time, a personal baseline is established: no comparison with average values, but with yourself.
How to get the best results
Do the scan right after waking up – still in bed, before your first coffee. This way, the scan measures your body in its true resting state, and the values are comparable from day to day.
For accurate results:
→ Before your first coffee, still in bed
→ Good, even lighting
→ Hair out of your face
→ Keep phone still – 30 seconds
The more regularly you scan, the more precise your personal baseline becomes – and the more meaningful the insights in the app.
